Buck at Borders in Providence last month.
I am officially declaring the Borders in downtown Providence as the best chain bookstore ever. Different levels, great lighting, fantastic displays, cool music, delicious gingerbread hot chocolate (for me) and espresso (Buck). LOVE it.
We’re still eating our Thanksgiving ham. And it wasn’t even that big a ham! So far we’ve used it for Hawaiian pizza, hash and eggs, ham sandwiches, and ham dinners. Who knows what we’ll make tonight. I’m thinking ham casserole, and for tomorrow, split pea soup.
Last night we watched the entire Season 7 of Trailer Park Boys. It goes on my list of all time favorite shows, side by side with It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia and Flight Of The Conchords. If you like those shows, you’ll like Trailer Park Boys. It’s from Canada, but you can rent it from Netflix.
Buck and I have been talking about Hoodsies and other nostalgic stuff, and then today I read a beautiful post over on Vermonter’s blog about her memories of being in her fourth grade classroom in Beverly, Massachusetts, when someone came to the room to announce that President Kennedy had been shot. It’s worth checking out. Not political or sad or anything, just nostalgic and beautifully written.

I missed Thanksgiving by a day! My American friend said I should have stayed to experience it (I’ve experienced July 4th and Halloween on previous trips) but I had to be in Sydney before the weekend.
Well that’s a shame, you missed all that turkey and bitter cold weather! But there’s always next year…
Even though I am a Barnes & Noble fan, I still wish there was a Borders in El Paso. You can never have enough books.
I know! I love Barnes & Noble too, but I also like Borders and wish we had one here. The one in Providence is really fantastic. But I heard that Borders is going under…I hope that’s not true!
Oh my GOD. How can I have missed Trailer Park Boys?!?!? Holy crap. You and Buck and all that ham and situation comedy from Canada and New Zealand! It makes my head SPIN! I think I’m gonna be sick …
♥
Oh my God, Dave, Trailer Park Boys are absolutely hilarious. And addicting! I had never heard of them until my son called and told me he’d seen the movie and I had to go find it immediately because I’d love it. I did. Then I discovered they also have 7 years worth of episodes and a drunken Christmas special. I can’t get enough of those guys, they’re wonderful.
I love Borders. I love them so much I don’t even mind paying more. I hope they never go out of business or leave MI as their headquarters.
I never heard of Trailor Park Boys. Hmmm..
I know, I wish we had a Borders in El Paso. I can’t believe we don’t.
Trailer Park Boys is hilarious (unless you’re offended by the language, or the lifestyle, come to think of it, because they’re stoned all the time). If you follow the link in my post it will takek you to a site where you can watch it online.
